5 TIPS TO STICK WITH A DAILY EXERCISE ROUTINE

SOME DAYS WORKING OUT SOUNDS ABOUT AS APPEALING AS A TRIP TO THE DENTIST. STICKING TO YOUR DAILY EXERCISE ROUTINE CAN BE REALLY TOUGH…

Perhaps you want to go but just lack the motivation to actually lace up those sneakers and hit the gym. Or maybe you feel youre too busy this week to workoutmaybe next week. Were all guilty of this. Ive heard so many womentalk about lack of motivation and sometimes I struggle to get myself to a gym too!

Theres always an excuse to be made for not working out. The key is to stay motivated and stick to your daily exercise routine! The good news is that there are ways that you can stay motivated and get fit this summer.

5 TIPS TO STICK WITH A DAILY EXERCISE ROUTINE

1.Sign up for Competitive Races

Whether its Tough Mudder or a marathon, signing up for races is a great way to keep your motivation up. Competing against friends, family or coworkers in these races or just against your own previous time is often motivation enough to stick to your daily exercise routine leading up to race day.

2. Trade Up Your Workout Partners

Dont make a family member or close friend your workout partner. Because your comfortable with the person, youre more likely to not feel too bad making excuses to break planned workout sessions or slack off. But changing up your fitness partner for some one less familiar and so less forgiving, will help hold you accountable to your daily exercise routine.

3.Pay for a Personal Trainer

Prepay for sessions with a personal trainer at your local gym. If youve shelled out money already, youll be less likely to miss a workout session.

4. Avoid the Scale

Especially if youre trying to add muscle, dont obsessively weigh yourself every day. Adding muscle may make your weight to rise at first and watching your weight increase might kill your motivation to go to the gym.

5.Go with What You Enjoy

Committing yourself to exercises you hate is a quick way to kill your motivation to even go to the gym. Instead, when you start to dread certain workouts, change things up! Try a new group class or do an active activity you enjoy, such as playing basketball with your kids or riding your bike to your favorite park. The bottom line: Do something! Dont just say oh maybe tomorrow and sit back down on the couch.
